Valentina I.Gusakova, PhD in Computer Science (1996, thesis: "Development of bionic algorithms for invariant recognition of gray-level images"), senior researcher.
Scientific interests of Valentina Gusakova include:

  • modeling realistic neural networks;
  • developing models of invariant image recognition based on imitating mechanisms of biological vision;
  • methods for analyzing data of neurophysiological experiments.

    Valentina Gusakova has more then 60 publications in Russian and international editions.
    She participated in several international projects (Theoretical and Experimental Study of the Context Vision with Application to Robot Control Problems "Robot Vision II", Invariant Image Recognition by Identification of Their Most Informative Regions).
    Valentina Gusakova was the principal investigator of the RFBR grant N 98-01-00948 "Bionic algorithms and models of contex coding image elements for invariant recognition" (1998-2000).
    Valentina Gusakova carried out research in several laboratories abroad:

  • LACOS, University Le Havre, France.
  • University of Antwerpen, Belgium.
